Andy's gonna be a papa!

Our good friend, Andy, who runs the World Wide Rant, is expecting. I mean, his wife's expecting. You know what I mean.
Why don't y'all head over there and congratulate him?
As for me, I'll be congratulating him this weekend, when I will lift many a glass to him and Nicky.

Changes

Mike over at Cold Fury has made the switch to Movable Type. Head on over there and make fun of his efforts give him some constructive criticism.

Just kidding, Mike. Please don't hurt me.

On the subject of Movable Type, does anyone know how to avoid font changes when using the BLOCKQUOTE tags? Everytime I use it, I get alternating large and small font paragraphs.

Bug zapper

Steven Den Beste has a short piece up regarding the death penalty that's classic. He begins by stating that the attraction of the death penalty to those who support it is that it is irrevocable. Then he applies this line of reasoning to Iraq thusly:

"At a certain point, I think there's a tendency in any discussion on any issue to begin to feel like screaming, "SHUT UP, ALREADY!" at the other side. In the case of punishment for certain crimes, listening to endless demands for appeals and new trials, you'd scream "SHUT UP!" zorch!! and let Old Sparky have the last word.

I would hope that good people would try to avoid giving in to that, but it's a natural impulse, and right now I'm feeling the same thing about Iraq. One reason I wish we'd start the war there is so that all of the world's whiners leaders would stick a fucking sock in it."

Damn, man! Where'd that come from?

Not that I'm not in agreement with that sentiment, but now I'm interested in learning what brought this particular reaction on. It seems almost un-captain-like.

Calling all ravers

If anyone has access to the Mauro Picotto - Einslive Raveparty 6/3/2000 song list, I would be endlessly thankful. I'm having a hard time finding the name of the second fourth fifth track in the set.
Damn, that boy can mix. I had to listen to it 6 times to figure out how many songs where in the first 10 minutes.
If you have this info, or know where I could find it, please drop me an e-mail.

I feel safer already!

Via Neal Boortz, here's a lovely picture of our hardworkin', professionalized because they're federalized, keepin' the country safe from tweezers and little old ladies, airport security personnel.

I think I'll stick with road trips for the foreseeable future.

All right, all right! I'm up!

I'm back. Just spent the last 16 days roadtripping through Canada. There will be some fresh content soon, as I'm really interested in putting together a trip diary. For posterity, or something... You know?
Hang in a little longer, and there will actually be something here.
